xenia bleaching

I don't think I have ever seen Xenia bleaching no matter how much they get bombarded with light. Can you post a pic - preferably before and after?

What kind of light do you have? How far are the Xenia below them?

about 4 to 5 inches away from my light

and i have one 30 inch ho aqaticlife 24 watt per bulb with one actics bulb and one 10k
and i also have a 24 inch coalife not a ho 14 watt per bulb with one actics and one 100k bulb. and the tank is a 30galoon 30 inches long sorry i dont have a camera.
and i dont know if it is bleached or is just a whitish color coral

That does not sound like too much light, even that close to the surface. In my experience, Xenia is good at adapting to various light levels. They stretch tall when they want more light and they stay short when they have too much light. So that is a good indication of what they want.

On the other hand, if they are a new addition to the tank, it is possible that they weren't able to adapt quickly enough. In that case, you should move them down to the point where the light intensity matches were they were originally at the store.

What kind of Xenia is this - Pom Pom, Elongata, or other?

i dont know what kind it is but it is preatty short i have had it for 2 months now.
is that anof light for some low to medium light coral in my tank.

I am not too familiar with that kind of lighting. Maybe someone else can chime in, but to me it sounds like low light for a 30 gallons tank.

You can try some discosoma mushrooms. They don't require much light. And, again, you can tell if they aren't getting enough if they start stretching up. If they lie flat, then they are happy.
