Xenia - Palytoxin??

Well Im thinking that he thought it was the xenia in his tank but maybe he had some paly's he did not know about. If this were true about xenia, I should have been dead a long time ago because I used to aqua culture the stuff and sell it to LFS in my area.

I saw this news today. This reefer claims that he nearly killed his entire family messing around with xenia species in his reef tank. Fake news? I hope so! I have handled tons of xenia of several different species and don't ever recall getting sick.

I have heard similar stories before. Zoanthids contain palytoxins, and being one of the most common corals in retail and ease of husbandry, it is essential that aquarists know the risks and take precautions.
