xenia question

I got some xenia after the meeting, and there is white tubular tissue forming on the trunk of it. I couldnt find anything about it, not sure if its reproduction possibly or some kind of parasite or disease. Figured some one here may know what the heck im talking about. I have not been able to get a good picture of it yet, maybe when all the lighting comes on i will be able to. Thanks!

That is normal for xenia.
It will eventially begin another stalk.
If you place the xenia against another piece of rock, it will attach and begin to spread in the tank.

Once it starts it never stop, before you know it your tank is a big xenia farm and you can't see anything. Did you get some of the xenia from Dave or John(RV8TOR)? If you got it from John, then you will have fun, mine is growing like a weed. I don't know about Daves but I am sure it is great as well.

Yea i got it from john, It looks great and is fully opened from lights on to lights off. Well it closes about 20 minutes before athinic lights go off.

how fast do these things grow? I didnt even notice these tubes yesterday and now 20 hours later they are 1/8 to 1/4 inch long already. Fine be me if they grow, my tank is very boring right now

Those will get boring soon enough too. The grow almost as fast as dandalions.

Pat did you go by Mad reefer lately, did they get any powder blue tangs in?
