xenia...?

i have a 54 gallon corner tank with 130 watts pc lighting, right now i just have some star frags and zoas along with a few ricordia and a mushroom, i was wondering if the xenia would do ok with my lighting, especially if i had it twourds the top of the tank.... you can see my tank here-

so i hear, its not to hard to remove when it does spread though is it? if its on the glass i dont mind so long as its not on the front of my tank...corner tank, and then as far as removing it from unwanted areas it can be simply "scraped" off cant it...

Your lighting should be fine for xenia. However as warned, it spreads quickly. Even the tiniest piece will regrow so just scraping off the rock isn't very effective. Some species are less prone to spread and take over your tank. Red sea pom pom is easier to control while elongata will take over the previously mentioned toilet bowl ;) .

BTW, check your local club forums, anyone with xenia usually has extra.

It's easier to contain by surrounding the colony with rubble. Then as it spreads just remove the rubble with the xenia attached, trade it for other corals or bring it to your LFS for store credit.

hmm, good idea, how surrounded would it have to be as my tank has mainly large peices of lr and not to much room to add the rubble, lol
