i just got a a white pulsing xenia. introduced him into my tank 3 days ago. Its limp, shriveld, and doesnt have any of its polyps extented. i tested my water and all parems. are good. i currently have a smaller stalk of xenias and they are doing just fine. can any bodu give me any tips? they have been limp and not looking so well for the past 3 days! since xmas. thanx.

IME, I would suggest you check the salinity. And according to some experts the ph should be at least 8.1-8.4. Also with my xenia, to get them to pump again I did some adjustment to my pumps to where there is still water movement and current in the tank but none of it is directly on my xenia. Try placing them at the bottom of your tank and let it readjust to the new environment. I hope my 2 cents help.

Mine started pulsing like mad once I placed them up higher and closer to the light.

had them for 3 months (no pulsing...but extremely long, before I finally gve that a try).

Now they look like they're supposed to :)

something about low pH will stop there pumping. I would check ph and alk levels .. This is what an experienced reefer told me to do . It was my ph that needed to be raised .

I recently had a Xenia that was looking good until I moved it to a lower spot in the tank.

It started to shrivel up and go limp after a couple of days. I moved it back closer to the lights (and into slightly better current), and it seems to have perked back up. I assume that it was related to the light and/or the current.

i think if you just wait, they'll come out

mine took about a week to get used to my tank and then they spread like crazy. they always pulse too.
