Xmas Wrasse - Cloudy/White eyes

Long story short, Im interested in purchasing from a fellow local reefer. However, he let me know that his Xmas Wrasse has some health issues (see attached photos). This isnt one of the livestock Im interested in. Those would be some softies + Swallowtail Angel that are his tankmates.

Anyone have any ideas of what the poor guy has? (also will make my decision if I want to purchase from the seller).

On a side note, I also posted on the newbie section since Im a newbie.

Cloudy eyes are usually indicative of flukes but is accompanied by other symptoms, flashing, head shaking, etc. It also may be cataracts. Not easily diagnosable from a pic. What is the pic of the tail representing?

Thanks for the reply. Seller said the scales near his tail look injured so he sent it to me as well.

Seller also said that the wrasse has lost some weight in the last few days. And he's about 5 years old.

The wrasse could have any number of ailments as proposed above. However, if the wrasse is not being considered as part of the purchase, it's somewhat moot. If you decide to purchase the angel, I would definitely quarantine it as if it were any other purchase. No way to be sure otherwise.

Ok thanks for the feedback. I will QT the swallowtail Angel for sure and dip the corals + observation for a week, maybe even be 2.
