xs160 or diablo 2500?

im planning on getting a reef octo skimmer, i just dont know which i should get.

my tank is about 120 gallons actual volume... mixed reef, just started adding some sps.. and pretty heavily stocked. my skimmer area is 9 x 12 and water level is 9'' deep..


i have the opportunity to get an xs160 used for $200, or im thinking of oversizing and going diablo 2500 for $300

but i cant find a single review on the diablo 2500... does anyone know anything about that skimmer?


i have the coralife super skimmer (220g) right now, and it pulls pretty good dark skimmate... but i feel its time to upgrade..

out of the 2 the xs 160 would be the best also look for new ones on reef specialty and look at the SRO-1000 has a much better pump and on their vendor site there is about a 55pg thread on the RO skimmers a lot of good info there HTH

Tommy, I contacted reef octopus direct. They said that even if I upgrade to a 125 in the future that the Diablo xs-160 will be more then enough. I then asked if there would be any real advantage in getting the 2500 and he said no unless you just want less room in your sump or if you plan on going much bigger. I think I'm going to be buying the xs-160 ill let you know how it goes or post in my thread about it. Goodluck!
