y u no grow candycane!!!!

alright well today when I was checking on my corals I realized that there was a very clear white dot above one of my candycanes mouths so is that a new mouth forming?

I found that mine grew the fastest when I stopped looking at it lol I would take a picture at the beginning of the month and then every other months and then compared the images sometimes growth is subtle and it feels like its not growing but when u look back at what it started u realize it did. Let do its thing it will get there before you know it. You know the old saying a watched pot never boils lol good luck and keep your parameters steady it'll grow

Ilikepie are you feeding with acrobatics and mains on. I've had best luck with my candy canes when feeding about 15 min after my mains go off

cody I feed with my mains off too and moonyrat pretty sure your candy cane is about to split in the next month of so because it's starting to look all peanut shaped

Oh wow is your tank new looks like its still going thru an algae phase.

Yea I was a 55 but trasfered to a 75 in sept 2012. Was a 55 gallin for 3 months before that. I dobt have any macro to take care if phosphates anymore and I never cleaned it off. But here is a new tank pic.

How are they looking now everyone?
I feed mine with reef chili usually, the whole tank but I do spot feed occasionally. I plan on tho spot feed more often tho

I use reef chilli as well, and my candy canes take in mysis, brine, rotifer and even bloodworms and krill sometimes(krill can be too big)

My kryptonite has only split from 2 to 3 but one of the 3 just formed a second mouth. My regular greens have split maybe 6 times over the last 4-5 months, cpl heads have 2 mouths again which means they will start splitting again soon.

The 2 head cane I rescued from Petco is still 2 heads after a cpl months, but it had a lot of recuperating to do before it starts to split.

I mix up reef chili when all the powerheads are in feeding mode and my lights are only blues. I'll take a turkey baster and coat the candy canes and watch them slowly eat it down. Once I transplanted mine into my new tank they have shrunk tremendously but are slowly making a recovery. But that's what I do, and then once the feeding jets turn back on it blows the left overs to all the other corals/SPS and they eat it too.
