We believe to have a female Yasha goby since there is no spot on the pectoral fin. Can someone confirm the information we read about sexing Yasha's is accurate? Thanks.
That's what I've read too. By that description I have a female also and still looking for a mate...though some would argue that most gobies are bidirectional sequential hermaphrodites and with two you'll probably end up with a pair. I'm still waiting for a second one...My fish lady hasn't had any luck receiving them alive ... So far 3 DOAs.
Kizanne has a spawning pair. I'm guessing whenever she'll get a few minutes to spare she may pop up with the answer to your question!
While you can sex them with that spot and it is the fastest way to get a pair, it shouldn't be required to have a male and a female to get a pair - two males or two females should work as well as they can change sex both ways.
