YAY! a power outage

many of you have probably heard of the wide spread power outages in the north central states. mine started tuesday night at around 8 p.m. that outage only lasted about ~3 hours. i just used a square tupper ware container for water movement and aeration till the power came back on. than around 7:30 this morning i woke up my tank gurgling and no power again. i paid no attention and went back to sleep, woke up at around 9 am and started moving water again. then around 5 this evening still no power and the tanks temp went from 78.9 down to 72.6. so i finally went and got a power inverter hooked it up to my car, plugged in a pump and heater in my 90 gallon. then my dad called my cell around 9 pm and offered me a small generator from his work. i jumped on it!. got home hooked up my 75 gallon and my pc (only the necessities :lol2: ) got online started to type into google "langlade county wisconsin po" then the lights came back on and dumby me left my return pump plugged in, and didnt relize i should of un pluggety it till my temp went from 76.4 down to 70.1....

now nothing to do but and see how everything copes (some sps' lps' clam, and 3 fish in my 90) fish are a purple tang a fridmani psuedochromis and a black algae blenny all seem to be doing ok... also my 75 seems okay again 3 fish powder brown tang flame angel (oddly the bestest of friends) and a clown fish.

reason i post this is to reiterate have some type of generator or power inverter on hand and dont rely on the electric company to come thru. and at the very least a battery back up w/ air pump....it was reported that this outage would last up to 72 hours. i really had no long term back up plan in place because i thought (what are the chances). sorry for the long post, but that was the short version :spin2:
