yellow clown goby

i have a 14g nano and i love my little clown goby. i originally wanted a yellow watchman but i am so happy to have found this tiny adorable fish. i have also added an orchid dottyback which i have heard can be somewhat aggressive to other fish. these two seem to get along well. what can i add to the tank so keep these two happy? i want is to remain peaceful and colorful. i purchased some macro algae and a small xenia recently. my light is a kessil a150w. the tank is still fairly new. 2 1/2 - 3 mths. i dont want to add anymore fish just corals or things for them to play on. or in. the dottyback goes in the live rock alot and the clown goby perches on the water circulation fan or just at the top of the glass.

Be careful with SPS with the clown some will nibble on them. I just got one myself 2 weeks ago so far he hasn't nipped on anything. He mostly stays perched in the rock work and comes out when food goes in.

She said she doesn't want more fish.

I would add some colorful mushrooms. Maybe a frogspawn. Both good beginner corals. Good luck.

Dottybacks are evil, but I hope you have good luck with yours. As for corals, I'd get some duncans. They are easy to keep, look good, and grow like crazy.

My yellow clown goby was my favorite fish! I couldn't sit back and watch a $5 fish destroy hundreds of dollars worth of sps. I found him a new home after he destroyed a large mille colony. Mine didn't nibble. He just loved to perch in the sps colonies...it still caused areas to die off.

As noted, clown gobies can wreak havoc on sps, especially in a small tank like that. In a large tank with large, established colonies, they can do OK because the damage gets diffused.

thanks i will keep an eye on him.
i dont plan on doing a major reef. just a few colorful pieces.
im heading over to the newbie section now. i think he might have ich.

great.
