Yellow colony polyp/zoa queation

I bought a rock with probably 15-20 yellow polyps. When I got home and put it my tank I noticed it had about 6 purple/green zoas on one end. Will the yellow polyps kill the zoas? Should I try to move the zoas to their own rock? I like the zoas and want them to spread.

in my experience, zoas/palys of different kinds will co-exist with one another.
i have not lost any zoas or palythoa because of this.
if your worried, or want to separate them, you can always frag it!

If you mean these yellow polyps, then yes move the zoas. Yellow polyps grow very fast. Faster than any zoas. In fact, isolate them if you don't want them all over the place.

Yep, I've heard those "yellow polyps" are mean!
Some times they are greenish yellow.
Beautiful polyps, but to be isolated on their own rock!

Nice picture with the snow flake!

Grandis.

Yeah, they look like those. So I just scrape the foot of the zoas off the rock and glue them to another rock? I'm new to coral and these are one of my first pieces. So I'm not sure how to move them. I also have some mushrooms I'd like to move to another rock.

Found this thread, and have a similar question....
How do you actually move the polyps? This is the first frag plug I've bought, and it has assorted polyps on it. I would like to move them off to rearrange them, but not sure what way to do it without causing harm.
Any advice?

From what I understand, if it's on a plug you can pry/scrape the glue with the polyps off the plug and glue them onto a rock. I think there is some info in the coral propagation section.

Okay. I did just find a Youtube video on fragging a colony.
I guess the procedure is pretty much the same. I will wait a week to make sure the polyps are adjust well, then pry them off the plug.
