Yellow "Coris" Wrasse with Sexy Shrimp?

small alien

The fungus is among us.
Does anyone keep these two species together successfully?

I have a tiny little juvi yellow coris and a sexy shrimp. I was wanting to add a few more sexys and thought I'd do that now while the wrasse is little. Will it eat them in the end regardless of when they're added.

Experiences appreciated. Thanks a lot.

from what ive heard they will eat them once grown. i have cleaner shrimp and was told the wrasse would go after them as well...unfortunately the wrasse went carpet surfing so ill never know...

yellow coris wrasses are usually well behaved. I've kept them for many years with cleaner shrimp and hermit crabs without issues.

those crabs usually turn nasty after awhile.

The canary wrasse (H. chrysus) should be fine with shrimp :)

Really!?! They seem extremely docile. I'm talking about the filter feeders in case there's any confusion there.

I kept a mated pair of yellow coris in a tank with 3 small peppermint shrimp. The wrasses never bothered the peppermints.

The juvi/adolescent yellow wrasses are very docile, so if he's well fed he probably won't look twice at the sexy shrimps.

18 months from now when he's pushing 5" and has warpaint on his face, know that the wrasse is fully capable of going godzilla on your small shrimps, but he may or may not be so "accustomed" to seeing them that he doesn't think of tasting them.

In my case, the juvi-become-adult wrasse was FAT and never bothered the sexies or cleaners in a 200g tank.
