Yellow Coris Wrasse

Does any one have any experience with these. I am thinking about getting one for my 40, but i am worried about it eating my pistol Shrimp, and my snails or hermits.

i have one in a 12 hex waiting for the 120 to cycle. Hes been there for a couple months with snails, blue and red hermits and a coral banded shrimp. Havent had a problem at all. They do sleep in the supstate. So make sure you have some of that

Mine ate my smaller snails,he picks them up and cracks them against the live rock until they break open.Kinda neat to watch.Other than that he hasnt bothered any corals or hermits.He is a pig at feeding time. i dont see a problem with a 40 breeder.

well i don't have any really small snails so that is fine and even if he does get a few it s no big deal i can go buy some bigger ones he cant get. I am mostly worried about my 1" tiger pistol shrimp. The shrimp has been in the tank for about a month so he already has some good tunnels goin.

one of my favorite fish. Striking yellow and a gracefull swimmer. Mine effortlessly cruises around the tank on currents and pecks at the rocks and sand all day.

They are one of the best security measures for a reef tank. Mine picks every frag I get clean of pests. It cleared out a zoanthid nudibranch problems in a matter of days. They can be a great first line of defense against any bad nudibranch and many other pests like pyramid snails..

Mine has not really bothered snails that I have notoced, even though i have countless small ones. It seems to stay focused on my amphipods, which i have plenty of. I think it is just a matter of it preffering them and having more than it will ever need in pods and my feedings. It is the fattest fish in my tank....

mines a perfect citizen..................hasnt touched anything in the tank (snails, shrimp, corals, fish) and is fun to watch cruise amongst the rockwork

Do they hide in the sand alot ?

at first, they do b/c of their new home. but after getting settled in, they are always out and very friendly with tankmates

Ok i guess i am going to get one but now i just have to find a LFS that has one.

Mine hid for the first 3 days I had it. Once settled in they make a great addition, even to a reef. I have snails, hermits, and a lps that he has not touched once.
