Noticed this morning my Kole Tang was acting a bit weird...hanging out up in the rock and swimming very twitchy....fast short motions...not like him at all...everything seems normal, all the other fish are normal...anyone see this before???
Would you describe what he is doing as flashing against the sides of the rock? If so it could be Ick. How long have you had him? What is your QT protocol?
Tank - 100 gallon
90lbs Live Rock
90lbs Live Sand
2 Clowns
1 Fox Face
1 Sail Fin
1 Cleaner Shrimp
1 Royal
3 Water Circulation Heads
UV Serilizer
3 Sock Sump
Eshopps Protein Skimmer
All readings at zero....did a water 25% water change 1 week ago...
I've had the Kole Tang approximately 1 1/2 months...
Yes I would say that your Flashing description is correct...
It could be Ick, common with Tangs. If it is you need to treat ALL fish and that is best done with TTM. The DT must remain fallow for 72 days. Finally, all future fish MUST be quarantined using TTM and then a couple weeks of QT>
Funny you should say that, I questioned the guy at the Aquarium Store where I bought the fish and he didn't even blink when I told him the size of my tank...said I should be fine...what the.....anything for a sale...Thanks for your comments
