yellow head eel

Any one heard of a yellow head eel? Lfs has one at about eight inches and it looked cool. Is this actually a chain eel? Looks about like it to me, but not for sure.

Can you get a picture? Usually fimbriated morays are listed as yellow head morays in pet stores.

After a bit of research on my own I am understanding it to be a fimbriated moray. I could be wrong though an will try to get a pic if I get back down there.

If they don't call it a Fimbriated, Yellow/Gold Head is usually what they would call it.

Here is my Yellow Head / Fimbriated Moray...be aware that they are aggressive! Especially during feedings!!

Look for my post "Costly Feeding Mistake" for details....He does however share the tank with a banded cat shark, 2 angels and some tangs with no issues, yet...just keep him fed and you should be ok.

Bingo, that is what it looked like. I was wondering about chain eel, but this is almost identical just a bit bigger then the one they had. After some research I hate to pass it up, but I just don't have a place for it.......only 40 bucks!

That is a good deal! Paid twice that for mine...I had a chainlink eel for over a year until he decided to sky dive out the back of my tank

My yellow head comes to the top to get food but that is the only time I have seen him get even close to the surface..
