An LFS near me has a "yellow sebae" like that for sale too. I figured it was dyed. I wish I'd remembered my cellphone has a camera and taken a picture of it though, cause I did wonder at first.

that one may not be dyed...

Sarcophyton elegans are naturally yellow, but very difficult to keep...

Isn't it possible that the carpet is just a moderately bleached out green? I remember reading at some point that most often carpet anemones that looked yellow would color up to be green when they became healthy.

could very well be, though the color appears too rich for that and the foot of the anemone looks to be yellow as well, but a simple color boost would take care of it... but even if that is the case, it's a little shady to sell it as a "yellow." Just like all those places that sell "white" sabeas...

i'm 99% sure the sabea's are bleached...

Those sebaes do have a natural white to them but i think they are all died including the leather
lots of leather is yellow but that is the exact same color as the other stuff i think is dyed so i think they dye them all in the same big yellow vat

Fiji leathers are naturally that color of yellow. If you tried to dye a fiji, it sure wouldn't have polyp extension as it's a very fickle coral.

sebaes natural color is tanish.. white is bleached.
