Yellow Stingray tank

I am looking to create a Yellow stingray tank and I have a few questions:

1) What size (gal wise) would a stingray that is about 14" in diameter and 20" long require?

2) Could I use a plastic poly stock tank as the tank? (I've been looking at these is sizes of 5'-9' ft and 320 gal+)

3) What would would be the best filtration method?

I know they need a large amount of soft substrate and most likely will be the only resident of the tank besides it's dinner

this is my tank with two full grown cortez rays. they do need good filtering. I have a huge sump, oversized skimmer, and clean filter socks every other day and im still thinking about getting a huge canister filter. I feed them once a day different stuff every other day.

What kind of sump do you have? And same with the protein skimmer. What size is the tank?

I would do atleast a 400g tank with a asm g5 with a mesh, recirculation, and gate valve mod. they like a thick sandbed to burrow in, prabobly atleast 3". you could probably throw a bamboo shark in there as well!

Thank you for that filtration suggestion! I looked it up and it sounds perfect and in budget. What kind of bamboo shark would you recommend?

Also could I use Nature's Ocean Bio Active live sand and Nutri Seawater with that filter?

Sounds like you watched the tv show tanked to much lol

But yes, those are both fine to use however i would suggest buying an rodi unit and mix your own saltwater. 400 gal of boxed saltwater will get spendy along with water changes.
