My yellow tang died in the QT tank yesterday, I thought it was ich when he shows a little red on the fin about 5 days ago, so I treat it with Quick Cure for like 4 days but still unable to keep him alive. Can someone help me to identify what was wrong with my system? Is this caused by bacteria?
Many thanks, I have few more yellow tang in the tank, so far they are OK but eat a lot less, I don't want them to die.

Yellow streaks are usually indicative of a bacterial infection. Low pH can also bring them on. What are the parameters in the Q tank? How big is this Q tank and how many more tangs do you have in there? This could be a major problem!

Hi Jerry:
I have 10 gal QT and only had one fish, this yellow tang) in the tank. My PH is about 8.5. I used the QuickCure and that should kill the bacteria right?
Thanks.

What is or was your Ammonia, nitrate at. I have seen yellow tangs react like this from ammonia nitrate.

Both are zero for sure in my main system. We change 50% water and only feed him a little bit in the QT tank but we did not check that in the last 24 hours before he die.
