yellow tang food

Hey finally purchased a yellow tang for my 72g bow and I attached a piece of nori to a clip but he didn't eat it yet. Just wondering does anyone have a food that yellow tangs just can't get enough off.

He'll nip at it eventually. Try and keep some in most of the time, or at least every other day. I've had tang nutrition problems in the past. Try and make sure youre feeding them something where the main ingredient is some sort of plant (Formula Two pellets, for example, are "for herbivores" but the main ingredient is shrimp meal). Omega one sells a herbivore food where spirulina is the main ingredient.

Once that fish settles in, he wont be able to get enough of anything! Mine would not touch seaweed at first and now he rips it out of my hand. Also it is wise to vary the diet, one day new life spectrum then the next feed hikari frozen, next day Ocean nutrition flake(just an example), while keeping nori available at least every other day. Maybe look into some seclon or similar product. Tangs need a ton of nutrition, they eat constantly.

My Yellow tang can't get enough of Nori. He also enjoys Julian Sprung's Sea Veggies.

Well, everyone says they will find it. But I think I have a dumb Tang.

Months of putting it in the tank and still has not touched it. I have tried putting it low, front side back side. Attaching it to a rock all over the tank. Using the clip stick to glass all over. Tied it to fishing line and let it float around freely.....yup you guessed it, has not touched it ever. Tried all of the above with a few diff brands, same thing.

I hope yours finds it and enjoys it!
