ok so my girlfriend went and got him at a lfs that is not to reputable. she got my the yellow tang for christmas because she knows how i like my fish :love2: but over the past 5 months i've seen a progression of the white patches around both of his eyes. i'm thinking it is head and lateral line erosion disease. i've given it a good amount of research and found that it can be caused by stray voltage, i took my high end metter and tested it but it was picking up too much radiated voltage to get a good reading. the only way for any of my tanks would it show up under 40 volts is when the black is in the ground with one of my fingers. and the red in the tank with another one of my fingers. me acting as some kind of grounding. i am going to get a new lower-end metter to look. also activated unwashed carbon? i am an offender of that now. i took the carbon out of the tank when i was treating the whole display for ich because lets face it... you don't want to tear up your display rocks to catch fish. i just found a coral safe product and it did well. but back to my subject. what to do? i feed very well. algae sheets, omega one fish flakes. they love it all. its a 30 gal reef with a few other fish but not overcrowded. please help. also water conditions are acceptable. so yeah please help your fellow reefer out here. i will post pictures in a couple of days when i get home.
