yellow tang help

Picked up a nice 3 inch yellow tang a week and a half ago. He's in 65 gallons with 2 small percs, a hawk fish and a watchman goby. Well the tang ate well to begin with and is still eating but has stopped swimming around and has a very bloated stomach on both sides. Have fed a mixture of blood worms and brine and spurlina flake. The other fish are fine and water is stable. Any ideas???

Yes but less then your typical tang. It's staying in the lower portion of the tank very close to the rocks almost swimming in the same spot most of the day the last couple days. it got rather large lumps on both sides where it's stomach is. Very bloated, have not seen this tang poop for at least a few days.

Hmm I saw this same issue come up a month or so ago and no one was able to provide a real definitive answer. My guess would be nematoads, otherwise known as internal roundworms. Medicated food can be used to cure the disease, but i'm not sure how it reacts with other fish so do some more research if you determine this might be the case.

Are you feeding the tang any greens..ie nori..sounds like the tang is constipated honestly..they need greens daily..

blood worms would always stop up my tang..I cut them out completely and have made sure it gets nori and since then no problems..it once took 3 days for him to get rid of a gut load of blood worms..hth
