I am pretty sure my tang got stung from my Vol. Lion he is breathing very heavy at the bottom of the tank and not swimming just kind of floating. If he got stung can he recover?

I've heard of some fish recovering and some not making it... How big is the tang, and how big is the lion?

7 inch lion and about a 5inch tang

Updates? I think the poison should likely have run its course or finished the tang by now if it was going to.

hiding underneath rock still breathing. I want to quarantine but I am thinking this might upset him more. I think I am going to wait it out. This is terrible I have had him for two years now. The lion has not done this to any of my fish before. I think it might be time to trade him in.

It was probably not intentional by the lionfish! If a fish brushes against one of the spines it will trigger a reflex action and automatically sting the fish...

I've had a yellow tang and a lionfish together before and it was just sheer luck the YT didn't get stung as she had a habit of swimming all around the lionfishes spines
