Yellow Toadstool Question

I have had these two toadstools for 8 months and they have grown some. About three weeks ago, one of the arms of the yellow toadstool "pinched" itself off and I have glued it to a frag plug and it still is surviving. It has not attached but a few polyps on the frag come out. The "wound" where it pinched never really healed and starting two days ago the next arm is doing the same. I do not see any parasites and there is not any new tankmates. The polyps come out more than what is pictured and seems normal otherwise.

Your thoughts?

Thanks

That don't look like a yellow Toadstool... pinched off or not. You sure that is what it is? There are no arms on a yellow Toadstool.

Walkthedog is indeed correct. That is not a toadstool. Crown leather or DH, perhaps? Beautiful, nonetheless.

That white area, presumably where it "pinched off" does not look like a natural propogation. Usually, when "pieces pinch off," the area of separation looks a bit more "healed." That the polyps on the dropped piece are coming out is a good sign, but that doesn't look like a natural separation.

Thanks for the ID help.

I have SPS in with it and everything seems fine with water parameters and other animals.

Has anyone seen this happen? Possibly, a pest?
