yellow turbinaria problems

I purchased a good sized frag of turbinaria about a month ago from my lfs. I was told they had it for a few weeks before I bought it. I wanted it because it was BRIGHT YELLOW, not the usual brown yellow that I see everywhere else. Shortly after introducing it to my tank, the pretty yellow tissue started to die off and I never had any polyp extenstion. All of my paramiters were great, but it still was slowly dieing off. Now it is turning the fammiliar brown yellow that I see everywhere, and the polyps are starting to extend, although they are lacking in the little tenticals that radiate around them, and the tissue has stoped receding. Did I get duped into buying a already sick coral? Was the Bright yellow a sign of lack of zooxanthelle, and after the fact I realized that I had been in the store the week before and I didn't remeber seeing it then, and I bought it 2-3 days after they usually get in their shipments.

the tank it came from had 175mh hanging like 3-4 feet above the tank. so i should have at least as much par and the problems were near immediate, not usuall of lighting issues.

I had the same type of issue with a frag I purchased.. I don't know its origin but it looks just like the WWC yellow turbinaria. Everything else I bought that day took right off but with the Turb I had no PE - none, receding tissue and darkened color. It took about a month to see any significant pe and for the recession to stop completely. I'm now about two months in and starting to finally see new growth. What seemed to make mine turn the corner was a move where it got direct light in the lower 1/4 of the tank and just a breeze of flow and it's super happy now and the new growth is the bright yellow of the polyps. After the final move is also when the polyps finally looked completely normal. Id try moving it around till you find its sweet spot.

it seems to being doing a lot better, I don't want to risk moving it and possibly aggrevate it, as i do believe it is starting to bounce back and get properly acc. to were its at.
