My tank has the yellow water blues.. I did a 20% water change a few days ago, Ammonia, nitrates are 0, phosphates are.5, PH is 8.3, Calcium is 400. I noticed that my actnic bulbs are blue, but the adjointing bulb doesn't seem lit, I checked with usa-current .com and it seems the other bulb is a "red" bulb and may not look like its on because of the diffence in K temp.

I have started feeding the fish with a green homemade brew, which may be causing part of the problem. I don't have an algea problem, but I have coroline on the sides and back of the tank.

Anyone have any suggestions?:(

add carbon to your sump, you'll notice the yellow disapear over night!!!

What the yellow is from is toxins, some could be harmful, but most arent. The carbon eats up all of these toxins. Just make sure to change the carbon after 2 weeks or so.

Good luck.

The yellow is caused by organics in the water column. As faze07hd mentioned, the answer is to run carbon in your sump or in a canister filter. The water will clear in a day or two.
