on Saturday I was sitting on my computer playing a game then I thought I heard something fall so I looked back at my tank and didn’t notice anything out of place so I went back to gaming then I heard what sounded kind of like water splashing on the floor so I went to investigate and noticed my yellow wrasse flopping around on the floor I quickly scooped him up and put him back in the tank he of course went and buried himself. Sunday he was late getting up and when he did he just laid in the corner of the tank breathing heavily I left him but now today I noticed his tail fin missing I don’t know if it was chewed of or what here's a picture

and i didnt notice it missing yesterday. any thoughts or ideas???

sooooo. a week later and he is acting as he did before the aforementioned incident.

has anyone ever had a fish survive long term with a missing fin? does the wrasse have the ability to regenerate its fin? Because it seems and looks like it is starting to grow back

My royal grammar had most of its fins chewed of, i moved him to another (less agressive) tank and all fins grew back in about 2 weeks...the color never did completely return in full though.

It will grow back if he lives long enough. Something beat the crap out of him or got too him while he was in the sand. Hope he survives.
