Can you be any more specific or provide a picture? The fish is yellow with one blue stripe? What shape is the fish, how big is it?

I'm not checking any books to be sure but I'm reasonably certain that's Lutjanus kasmira.

The exact species isn't too important anyway. It's a snapper. It WILL consume small fish when it gets large enough, so no, your clownfish are not safe with it long term.

thanx Matt. yeah after looking through some web im sure its kasmira. owwh. luckily the clownfish survived last night. am going to separate it now. thank you..
