I have a colony that is in question, and yes the skeletal structure is smaller than all my lords, But they are still larger than my micro's. Well these are inbetween maybe closer to the micro side.
Fully expanded they are the size of baby lords about 1/2 to 5/8ths of an inch. They look like lords, But at likts out they dont.
Ther receed and have a heavy 1/8th of an inch gap between the next polyp. I find that to look more like my micro's at lights out the stucture is def alot smaller than my lords.
Heres a daylight shot. I'll get another shot at lights out so you can compare. This colony is roughly 3 inches long. With the amt of polyps it looks bigger.

This isn't very scientific, but I've noticed when Micromussa are all closed up, the flesh in between the polyps is redish/pinkish.

Kind of like this

Also, take a look at this page on JenDub's website.

You can see the pink valleys in between the closed polyps.

Going by the colors of your piece, I'd say it's a lord. Again, that's not very scientific. Just my opinion.

Thanks, I had someone say when i wanted to purchase an acan that it was a micro. It looked like a acan to me and they replyed the fleshy part inbetween polyps indicated it was a micro.
Now this coral was sold as an acan and i though it was an acan, But since this was told to me a couple mos ago it stuck in my head. Then i bought this coral a couple weeks ago and just noticed it a couple days ago that it look similar to my micro's did at night. I pulled it out of water for a few seconds, Not it retracts more than this at night, But you can get a picture of what it looks like.
Ps its a little more red than this. The blue lights are skewing the camera. I should have used flash in hindsight.
