I finally setup my ro/di unit with a brute garbage can with a float valve and all I am missing is salt to do my water changes. Just wondering if any knows where to get the best deal on salt?

Water I've been getting hasn't been so great either so I ended up going to the inlet yesterday morning at high tide and getting it myself! That way I know where it's coming from.....and it's not sitting in a tank on the back of a truck boiling in this heat all day either!

Shouldn't be a problem but the last time I bought natural sea water someone told me at the store that it has phosphates. I still got it and tested the water at home, phosphates were present.

I just got back form petsmart and picked up the 160g instant ocean bucket for 35.99. Make sure you bring in a print out of the price online. The cashier had to call the manager and the manager was eyeing me up.

She looked at me, then the bucket of salt, me, then the printout, then me, then the printout, then me, then the salt, then me and then finally the said.... Okay and put the key in and changed the price. I guess it was some hardcore underground salt purchasing going on.

Actually, just as I was leaving the inlet yesterday, VIP pulls up to fill his tank. He said he usually fills up at Haulover but was up here at Hillsboro and got some there. Now, that was Wednesday, so who knows where he might get it next. I've already done my water change with Hillsboro water and everything is good!
