yet another breeding Question

Ok, first I am serious..

Second. I use to breed fresh water Angel Fish and still have many of my tanks... I am looking to breed a fish that makes some money but really always just liked fish for fun in my garage. I know I should check with my local fish store and see what they like to buy. However, I know some fish go for $1 wholesale and others gor for $30 granted the $30 fish cost more to survive and sell but because there are less of them they cost more and take up less room so maybe its better to sell the harder breeds because they require less space because of less fish but still good money?

I was told Discus for fresh water make a good bang for the buck? also are pretty fish to enjoy. Someone else said go if you go with saltwater go with Sea Horses. However Ocellaris really pay the bills. Alot of people do them BUT its a fish most people start out with so people always want to buy them as a good starter fish at the LFS

Please anyone that can tell me what there advice is I would be very thankful for any and ALL feedback. I know.. I know start small first which I intend to. I know its alot of work (I use to breed Angel Fish) but I really have alot of tanks... Here is what I have in the garage...

7 125 gallon tanks
4 75 gallon tanks
4 55gallon tanks
6 40 gallon breeder tanks
10 2.5 gallon tanks
14 acrlic 25 gallon breeder tanks
6 20 gallon long tanks
4 custom made acrlic 10 gallon drilled tanks
3-5gallon buckets filled with submersible heaters
about 30 overflow boxes
water softner-4-ft high carbon block filter
most all lids and lights
garbage bags full of sponge filters
lots of testing supplies electric meters ph-orp-tds-etc

Please respond,

Thanks,

That's gotta be one BIG garage :eek1:

Well you certainly won't need to buy any equipment for a while anyway, fill all those tanks with ocellaris clowns and you have it made :D

Seriously follow Kathy's advice and get Joyce's book, around here we call it the Bible.

You don't happen to live in So Cal do you? ( he hints he needs more tanks...)

I live in Denver Colorado.

i want to be honest with you guys I use to breed tropical. I have never done saltwater because it always seemed it took more time and took more money... So I stayed with breeding lots and lots of Angel fresh water fish but everyone nickel and dimed me at the LFS they only wanted to spend $1.75 per fish..

So I got out of it and now have looked in Discus and maybe Koi Angel since they seem to get alittel more for those but that only because its the new "fad"

Man saltwater is a *****...

With fresh water you can just a get a tanlkess water heater set up and set the water to correct temp. and can even do way with you heaters in your tank saving TONS of money on your electric bill! I even had it set up with a time to fill the tanks.

Saltwater is a whole diffrent monster. I am sure there are some tricks like I am talking about here in fresh water that can be done with Saltwater as well..
