Yet another WLAN Question

I'm trying to set up the WLAN card and I'm trying to enter the SSID but am not able to as it does not support the '@' sign. I work from home and have to have my Home Network set up so that my work laptop will also recognize and connect to the network when I go in the office.

Example of my SSID is Brian@home

I have version 3.08 currently while I wait on the RS232 cable.

Is there any way around this?

ProfiLux will not accept the character "@" (if you enter this directly on the device).
Did you try it with ProfiLuxControl? I think there are no restrictions.
But: I am not sure if "@" is a valid character for a SSID. If it will not work - is it possible to change the SSID in your home network?

Unfortunately, the '@' is required in order to use my Work PC at home. I currently have 2 laptops, a Desktop, and a wireless printer all working with that SSID. Are you saying it may be a limitation of the card/controller software?

I've tried using the Profilux Control software but for some reason, it doesn't appear to save. I am using Version 3.08 until I get my RS232 cable and update to the latest version. Would that have anything to do with it? I'm currently connecting to the Controller via the USB port/cable.

Rename your network. Something simple, like kelleynet, for example. Shouldn't take too long to configure the settings on your various computers.

Matthias,

If it saved the new settings, shouldn't they be displayed in System section of the ProfiluxControl when I select WLAN? Nothing is displayed there other then that there is a WLAN port.

Erikages,

I wish I could change the network SSID but if I did, I would no longer be able to work from home with my Employers Laptop.

:(

I'll keep trying.

Thanks everyone.

Brian

"shouldn't they be displayed in System section of the ProfiluxControl when I select WLAN" - no, screenshot:

did you disable WLAN security in your router temporally?
if not - try this

Tony was able to point me to the tutorial that has more information regarding the setup and I will be trying that tomorrow to see if I can get it working. Thanks for your patience and help on this.
