well I have decided to get one more tank going I am on my way tuesday to pick up my new custom 300 dd marineland tank and stand.

It will be a 72*36*27 with a center overflow in the center of the tank my I wanted it to be in the center so that i can veiw all four sides. I also went with starfire glass all the way around seeing that we can view it on all four sides.

I have a question though I have always been a metal hilade avid user and am wanting to go with t-5 lighting is thia going to be enough lighting for my sps and clams?

i will post pics as i get them but i will try to be very detailed as i go but here are some from the supplier.

How many T5 bulbs are you going to use. They're certainly capable of providing enough light, but that depends on how you drive and configure them. If you're doing something such as 20-24 36" bulbs (10-12 on each side with individual reflectors), that should be fine.

Did you get the center overflow custom?

The center over flow was an option that was offered since we were looking for a tank to view from all sides. I guess you can say it is custom. we have 12 t-5 and two mh 250w with reflux bulbs 10000k that is the plan so far but i was hopeing to delete the mh so that i would be able to delete having to use a chiller. we are wanting to get a om-4 way for flow as we are useing a reef flo hammerhead for our return. I also am using an etss 600 xr pro skimmer and current uv sterlizer.

so you were just going to use the 12 t5 bulbs? How big are they? If they're 48" or 60" bulbs and you stagger them, it may suffice with strategic coral/clam placement, but it's not what I'd consider ideal. However, with that center overflow, it's kind of an interesting dilemma.

thought id give an update so we sold the 260 gallon tank last night and moved everything out into smaller system. I sent a few employees to Missouri this morning to pick up my new 300 dd. so by tommorrow night ill have some pictures still tossing and turning over lighting. Also got a great deal on an etss 600 xr skimmer and etss euro sump with built in fuge.:bounce3:
