You may have nice Zoas, but...

you don't have spider crab zoas! This is pretty darn cool... a walking blue zoa colony. :)

No, I didn't glue them on. These guys are masters of camouflage and use stuff in their environment to blend in!

This is one of the reasons I love decorator crabs. Wish I could have one. Maybe after my next cuke. What other things do they carry around?

Had 2 of them before, cool creatures but the second I caught them swiping at fish swimming by. They were soon out of the tank.

This guy is slightly bigger than a dime... no threat to anything else in the tank but cyano. Yes, cyano. Couldn't believe he was actually eating some from a small patch in the tank.

I'm sure there's a wide variety of subspecies within the spider crab group, but these are the small ones that can be found in the shallow reefs in the Keys. I've pretty much nailed down how to get them to use zoas, so if you're interested in one, shoot me a PM. They are unique!

Can you tell the technique to force them to use something? I want one to use my ricordeas as cover.

They attach small pieces of rock, sand, algae, etc. to themselves. A Ricordea may not work, unless it is a small piece. They will readily use small objects when pulled from their natural envirnoment and placed in a quarantine area...
