Ok I am am getting rid of alot of softies tomorrow and I have just added a bunch more sps frags to the tank. I am going to use this time to reaquascape the tank. Right now I just have a huge rock wall that spans the tank and all the corals are mixed up. I want to do something cool. I want you to decide which one to do! If you dont like any, give me your idea please.

The tank is a 6ft 125g with 2 overflows off set in the middle.

AQUA #1
The first one would have rocks cover the whole corner including the left pane and curve around the corner giving me a lot of space for sps.

AQUA #2
This one is just 2 seperate islands.

AQUA #3
This one would be mostly be caps in the middle.

Thanks.

Well keep voting. I have decided to wait until Thursday night since I am off Friday. This is going to be a big job. I am going to post pics of the process before and after. ;)

Because sps like higher light and more flow I set mine up so they are at the top of the rock island. The LPS and softies are generally at the bottom or even under the rock overhangs to shield them from the MH. As far as islands go I have 2, one large and one very small in a 120 AGA. A 125 has more length and I would like to know if you can make two islands that reach the top of the water without making it look like a tank of rock.

my $.02

Remeber, corals grow and you will run out of room with scape 1 left corner.

Do a shorter rock in the middle. All short rocks. Allow your corals to grow upwards to the top of the tank, instead of having giant rock towers. I do like the monti. cap. idea. that would look sweet in the center and on top of it, a jewel of the tank, an awesome acropora that of which the likes of nobody has seen.

I like number 3..

The middle rock with caps would be like a boonie. I would make the left and right sides larger towards the end of the tank. Let the caps coming off the middle rocks provide shade for the softies and lps on the right and left. Then on the far outsides of the shaded rocks switch back to sps where there is no shade from the caps above.

Good ideas so far peeps! You all are invoking the thought process here even more. :)

See I have so much rock now, and I am sick of it. I am planning on removing some of it to the sump.

I would go with the left side of number 1 and the right side of number 3 :D
I like that idea also.

So no middle island?

It depends on what you like.

Personally, I like when there are two islands, one taller than the other. I also like some extra shape to them, other than just a stack of rocks. I always like having one island that curves around a bit to create a "lagoon" of sandbed between the islands for some neat corals/clams to be on. You could also make a small island in the sandbed between the two islands for stuff like xenia, polyps, et cetera, so that they're isloated and won't take over.

I am going to be preparing the tank for the change. Do you all have any suggestions?

I am making up about 50g of new saltwater, preparing the containers, purchasing super glue for the coral placement. Anymore suggestions on preperation?

Ok were counting down to the big aquascaping day! I will be getting salt today to mix up some new water. Anymore votes, ideas.

I will also try and post some pics of the current scaping soon. ;)

i would go with # 3 but with anything it all comes with time and seeing exactly were it looks good once you have it some like to mix their color up others like all one color together

Ok Folks been a few days, but I did go with #3 and I will be posting pics tonight!! So come check in later. :)
