You put THAT in your tank? The secret ingredient.

Ca, Mg, etc... it's all standard stuff.

Somehow someone (probably drunk :lmao:) decided to dump vodka in their reef, and saw great results.

What is YOUR 'secret ingredient'?

Is there some random liquid that keeps your colors shining bright, reaching for the light, your water crystal clear, and your fish plump?

Share your UNIQUE additive, something we don't see often. Something that would make other reefers go 'You put THAT in your tank?'

pssst, I've been doing "weed" dosing as my carbon source.....but don't tell anyone
...although I'm not 100% sure the corals are positivley responding, I am 100% sure they don't care anymore

Ca, Mg, and Alk is my daily routine, then I hit them with my secret weapon " negligence followed by TLC!" LOL! That seems to work for most kids, why not for our tanks

I took out a couple of rocks that were covered in aiptasia, smeared some powdered citric acid on those MFers! They hissed and bubbled (kind of like snails with salt) then turned to goo. I rinsed the rocks and put them back in the tank....no more aiptasia!

Thats awesome. I can imagine the enjoyment I would get out of that

Serious about it being added to many tanks, yes. Serious about how it happened? Probably not. Its called carbon dosing, and using vodka is one method of doing it.

Interesting! Maybe if you mixed the acid with water and sprayed them with a pipette?
This thread needs to be a sticky.

DHMO - dihydrogen monoxide, I never run a reef without it!
