I found a 125 72"x 18"x 20" w/ dual overflows, sump and live stock tank on craigslist about 120mi away but were I live it is worth it I was not sure if I should get it they are not that many tanks were I live kind of big and I have never had a tank before but extremely knowledgeable on reefing.

So if I got it what fish would I put in it
Fish I am thinking I want
Sailfin Tang
Foxface
Flame Angel
Blue throat trigger
Coral Beauty
Pair of Perculas
Lawnmower Blenny
Midas Blenny
Matted Filefish
Mystery Wrasse
Green Mandarin
Longnose Hawkfish

Then what kind of reef LPS, SPS, or Mixed

Any thought Fish, reef, to big of tank for a beginner

As long as you go slow and take your time, buy a big skimmer, good lights youll be fine, i started on a 125. Fish and coral type are up to you, some fish you listed are not reef safe though so look them up before you buy.

I looked up the worst are "with cation"

Which one(s) were not reef safe?

Fox face eat coral sometimes, i had one that ate my zoas. Flame angel i heard is 50/50 never had one though. the trigger, coral beauty, and filefish are also known to eat certain corals. Some people risk it and get lucky, but i dont take The chance Anymore

Most of the fish I think will be okay the trigger I think the will like the shrimp and crabs foxface I don't worry about him, dwarf angels I love them and I will risk it the red and the blue is worth it for me. filefish I hear these guys chow down on corals but I would only get this guy is if I have an out break of aptasia. My plan is if I feed my fish a lot they wouldn't go after my corals I've seen it work before so I am going to give it a go.

Sailfin Tang Too large and active
Foxface Have been known to pick at corals
Flame Angel Same with foxface
Blue throat triggerI think a BTT should be fine...
Coral Beauty Introduce properly with the flame, may pick at corals
Pair of Perculas Add later to prevent aggression
Lawnmower Blenny see foxface, not common to pick at corals though
Midas Blenny good
Matted Filefish May pick at corals
Mystery Wrasse Have been known to become aggressive, especially towards other wrasse. Usually eats small shrimp
Green Mandarin I never recommend these but your tank is large, get a fuge and get rid of any fish that will compete with it for food and you could add one once the tank is established.

Big tanks can be a challenge, but they are worth it, for corals I like mixed. More diversity, colors, textures, movements, shapes, so interesting and awesome
What filtration are you going to have in the sump? You'll also have to take some fish off the list.... or the mandarin will have a hard time (Don't quote me on this, I'm very tired) :hmm4:

I trimmed down my stock list and kicked out everything that might give my mandarin a hard time finding pods

So Fish that got the boot
Longnose Hawkfish
Matted Filefish
Mystery Wrasse
And Possibly the Coral Beauty

Undecided on Skimmer but tank has a new T5 fixture w/LEDs a 55g sump w/huge refugium some koralias and a lot of Live Rock & corals

Next Question which RO/DI system should I go with? I like the BRS. And which skimmer? I like the Octopus Diablo Extremes
