I believe the oldest I've got now are in the tank since June 2008.
They are small and almost died after moving to a new house.
One of mine Palythoa was added June 2008 as well.
I don't remember any of my other systems in the past...
I had some orange (sort of) zoanthids come in on a piece of live rock one time. The colony grew much larger, but they were still with me 9 years later when my tank cracked. Troopers... Some of them can be tricky at times though.
In my old tank I had some that were 4 maybe 5 years old. These were my first zoas ever. I paid $5 for a 20 polyp frag at the end of a frag swap. They grew out to maybe 200 polyps until a tank crash and I pulled the rock out to dry.
my oldest are a group of green palys that i have had since 1999. I ordered 4 coral from live aquaria(think it was called something else back then) as my first order in 1999 and the palys were one of them. They survived all the moves..crashes and everything in between. I always gave it away when it grew too big but always kept a frag just cuz.
Was driving with the wife and asked her this question and we realized it was 2 frags (nuclear greens and purple deaths) we got around march of 2009. Have survived a tank crash, invasive palys and 2 moves and are still aroud. For reference I started keeping corals in November 2008.
My oldest ones are are about 9 years old. The original colony was about 20-25 now only 6 left. They are incredibly tough. I neglected the tank many times and they still survived. (10 gal nano) Now I maintain it correctly and they thrive. I hope they multiply!
