Talk about ridiculous.

This post struck me as funny because, well, I know Brandon. Brandon is probably more attuned and concerned to the needs of single coral polyps and water parameters than any person I've ever met, and that includes coral farmers and aquarists at public aquariums. He cares about cubic inch sized portions of his tank more than any sane man should. If any coral in that tank was stressed in any way, he'd remove it. Do any of the polyps look damaged? Do any of them look unhealthy, bleached, stung, receding? Does the Acropora NOT look like it has grown a tremendous amount in just a few months?

Most importantly, how exactly does a coral know it's in such a small tank? See with its eyes? Feel with its paws? I suppose you feel comfortable keeping an active cogniscent vertebrate like a copper banded butterfly in a tank a millionth the size of its natural habitat, but this guy is not giving his corals enough room? Give me a break.

Wow:eek2:
Not sure if Im suppose to answer these questions or just soak up the personal attacks. From the verbage it sounds like Im just suppose to soak em up. Thats fine Matt. I guess sounding like a smart@zz is better than sounding like a dumb one so they say..

Now can I get a break?

Where exactly did I attack YOU?

Are you for real? Being sarcastic about eyes and feelers? Personally zinging me for the fish I chose? Call it what you will, I call it messed up.

Justin, I replied to your PM. I really did not know your CBB had died. Last I heard it was doing well, and wouldn't have made that comment had I known that. I never intended to attack you or insult your tank or anything.

But please go back and read your posts. You attacked this guy's tank and skills as an aquarist. "Flame away" you said. "Redeculousness" you said. "Insensitive" you said. This is a friend of mine, that you've never met! If you don't want to be personally attacked may I suggest that you follow the same rules.

Got the pm,

I understand how you were offended and defensive innitially, I also understand that even though they were my opinions I couldve delivered them more tactfully or, not at all, and for that I do apologize(especially to Brandon). I deleted my second comment on this post, unfortunately the part where I said "ya theres no question of him being on top of his water and clearly shows skillz.." went out with it, cuz my some other comments were more OT based. So yes, being in this hobby for even just a year youd not be able to deny the husbandry skillz he has shown. I leave my last comment as a yes, were all geeks who love fish and corals undoubtedly, i'll openly extend my hand to you.Peace.

I've seen that tank posted a few times on RC over the past year or so.. My first reaction was one like Justin's where I thought it was a waste. But then someone a while back did a very in depth thread on it and I was more amazed than anything. Since that post and these new pics I am even more amazed. That little half gallon has it all including a fuge...and you don't have to worry about the acro cutting out the light since it light from the front and not the top. That which apears to be creap is a siliconed sealed lid to prevent evap. The time and effort that has gone into this tank is truly amazing and couldn't be pulled off by your average reefer. Matt, does he still travel with the tank? If I remeber correct he use to bring it to shows to bring awareness to the hobby, or am I thinking of someone else?

Interesting but... I feel all claustrophobic all of a sudden

I applaud the effort but IMO that's definitely an acquired taste.

Wow, I don't know why anyone could possibly say that this is rediculous.

I think it's artistic and ingenious.

If keeping corals crammed together is cruelty, then reefkeeping in general is cruel.

I suppose jealousy always comes into play when someone criticizes such a beautiful creation.

I don't think cramming as much stuff into a little tank required much artistic talents IMO :)

There IS such a thing as "less is more" artistically speaking :)

Dedication and patience yes !
But artistic is a bit of a stretch IMO.

I don't know if he does with this particular one. I know he had one with a pic of it in the car.
