Can you post a picture of the skimmer working? I love to see the power of these things!
btw- Would you please hurry up and finish this already?? 1) Suspense is getting the better of me 2) Then you could travel out here to Ohio and build one here for me! This way the second build will contain all of the 'should've dones' aka hindsight build !

 I'm tryin, I'm tryin! And I know what you mean about the hindsight build, I already have a few different ideas I should have done.

Great looking build thread so far!

Quick question.. are you going to put some bracing/pieces of acrylic/huge signs so that when you (or house guests) have had one too many you(they) don't mistake it for a hot tub? :D

Looking great! Now just get some more rock and throw in some rays! haha. Like the Monterey shirt in the picture on the wall. My hometown!

Thanks Alex, yeah I love California great weather compared to Michigan!

1st- Scaffolding with frag tank = instant classic
2nd - love the progress but I second the sentiments above...can you finish already :bounce3:
3rd- My concern is not with the wattage of the heaters its the flow through the heated section. I have never dealt with a tank this size so I dont really know how much flow through that sump would be sufficient, but the beauty of it is you can run it and see if you are experiencing difficulty maintaining temp in the display.

You are right, it would be best to place the heater directly in the display where there is maximum flow, but I would like to keep it free from clutter as much as I can. Actually since I turned the heaters on 2 days ago the water went from 60 degrees to 71 degrees.

It would be neat if there was a contest to vote on the best thread for a tank/display build by a hobbyist! Then have a company of marine aquaria sponser it to give off a prize. I'm sure that yours would definitely place. Its so exciting to follow along and see how different ideas come together. All that follow this thread can feel your anticipation for completion. I'm sure for as much you ache at the end of each session working on this project - you would not want to share that. This is where you can shine with all your OWN ideas and elbow grease! So keep up the good work- You certainly have alot of support!

That is a good idea, more motivation to make one's tank better! And thank you for all of the support!!!:):):)
