This is the second time I have tried putting Yumas in my tank. All my other corals seem fine but for some reason my yumas always die. Could my banded shrimp be eating them? Any ideas, to why they seem to always die?!?!?!?
Are they wild caught or are they aquacultured? If they are wild, they are often difficult to acclimate. Putting new yumas in a shaded spot usually helps, but it is not always a guarantee to increase survivability.
I agree that some of the wild collected yumas can be difficult. You mentioned a shrimp... if you're feeding the yumas, or they're catching meaty foods then the shrimp is a possibility too. Even relatively "safe" shrimp will turn evil if they smell food inside a coral; I have seen cleaner shrimp tear apart corals to get food out.
