Anyone have any experience with this product. It's relatively new and I just started using it. It shows promise, but as I've learned from long experience, these products always appear to work at first only to see them utterly fail in a couple of weeks.

I've been using it for about a week now and there seems to be some noticeable improvement. Just curious if anyone has any longer term experience with it.

Are you talking about the product designed/patented by Paul B.?

If so mine is in the mailbox. I've used a friend's before though, when Paul B was still making them by himself. It works VERY well if you make sure to zap the entire offender (aiptasia, majano, etc.).

The only thing more efficient in my experience would be natural predation. Even that can be hit or miss though.

I'm not sure. On the bottle it says its made by a company called Crystal Clear Aquatics. It's a very thick gel almost like vaseline or toothpaste. I got it at my LFS in Maryland.

Oh... nm that's not what I'm talking about.

I even googled Zaptasia and it linked to a Photobucket picture of Paul's device.

my peppermint shrimp are the only thing i will use on aiptasia. there is just something about adding unnecessary chemicals to my tanks that i dont like... just find the right pepp shrimp and you wont have to worry about it. :)

whats wrong with chemicals? im sure the ocean is full of chemicals and it seems to be doing fine.

I had 2 peppermint shrimp and they ate 0 apstasia

shrimp - 0

I tried peppermint shrimp. Dropped them in the tank and never saw them again. About two weeks later, their skeletons showed up in the return pump filter. No help at all. I did have a hawkfish that ate through the aiptasia then went on to everything else in the tank. Once I removed him, the aptasia came right back.

i think.... 1.5x1018 m3 of ocean water has the power to dilute and take care of its chemical problem within reason.... reason i try to avoid it is that why add something when there is a natural cure... ill sell you my pepps if you want them... they are great at eating aptasia took the whole tank two days til it was void of it.
