Zebra and Snowflake Eel Tank Size

Opinions needed. I have two eels, Zeke and Badger, a zebra eel and a snowflake. The zebra is about 3.5 feet long and the snowflake is just over 3 feet long. They are large and great pets. They are good in the reef as far as getting along with the fish and peppermint shrimp etc but they knock things over and they eat a lot so I have to do large water changes all the time.

I want to move them to a new tank and am looking for economical options. I found a used 180 gallon 6x2x2 that I can get for them. Ideally I'd like a 7x2.5x2 260 gallon tank but that costs more. They are in a 5x3x2.5 280 gallon tank (500 gallon total system volume) now.

I want to add a few more fish with them for a fish only tank, and get them out of the reef. Do you think 180 gallon is a good size for a while?

I had my 3 foot zebra eel in a 150 with about 10 other fish for 6 months before getting a larger tank (not because of the eel).
Every got along fine.
How often do you feed him?
I feed 3-4 large shrimp every week or so

That"s a fine size tank for those eels, you'll be able to a few cool larger fish in there with them as well.

180 is fine for life you will never need to move them again.

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like they will be fine in a smaller tank like a 180. They each eat 4 large shrimp every 4 days.

I had a zebra moray and a snowflake in a 90 gallon for a few years before upgrading to a 180 gallon. they did perfectly fine in the 90 gallon
