Zeovit 14 Day Cycle

Has anyone used the "œZeovit 14 day cycle" to start a new SPS tank recently? The latest thread I've found on subject is four years old:

Seems like a pretty expensive undertaking. I estimate the reactor and additives required for a 200 gallon system would cost between $368 and $482, depending on whether I used a KZ reactor or a smaller Bubble Magus one.
Anyways, if you've used this method I'd appreciate hearing about your experience with it. Can you really safely add fish and "not to[o] sensitive corals like branching Montipora" within 10 days of filling the tank with water?

Thanks.

Yes you can. You need all that to run the full system, it's not just for the cycle. You will have to dose the tank daily. I have just cycled my system about 2 months ago and dropped coral in after 10 days and didn't even use live rock.

Cool. So after the tank cycles, you continue running the reactor and dosing the ZEObak, ZEOstart, ZEOfood, and Sponge Power, changing the zeolites in the reactor every 6-8 weeks?

One thing that's not clear to me is how the system controls phosphates without using GFO, ATS, fuge or other conventional methods. The ZeoVit FAQ are not cystal clear on this, although they seem to hint that the zeolite may remove phosphate.

Regardless, sounds like this could work for my new build which like yours will not be using live rock.

Thanks.

You should really go on the zeovit forum and read the stick at the top of discussion page. It will give you answers to most questions.
