ZM's 200g build

Fish wise all's pretty well. I did lose two wrasses when both found a crack and jumped at the same time and were found dead on top each other. Course that happened to be the wife's favorite pearl wrasse and one of mine a red velvet wrasse. Can only guess they were chasing each other and one followed other to death. The annoying part there was that the pearl was not only the healthiest/fattest I have seen but it ate everything including flake food. Going to be hard to replace that one.

As far as new not much although I did add a pair of bangai cardinals and a bicolor angel. First time I ever had cardinals but they add a little bit of unusual to the tank and maybe some fish food if they start breeding.

With the loss of some stuff I am taking this opportunity to remodel the rock work. I was planning to get rid of the caps because they took up to much space and created too much shadow (especially 12"+ purple cap).

Part of that is getting rid of most if not all my Rose BTA's. They have just been reproducing to fast and they have stung a few things. Can't really attribute them to actually killing anything but they have done some damage. I think I was up to 15 and I finally got up the ambition to pull 7 out last weekend which got a trip to the LFS. I guess its my lighting that made me think otherwise but they are actually the darker red version. My clowns aren't going to be happy if I get rid of them all and still undecided if I keep just one. With the loss of the caps, some colonies and the RBTA's going the tank is looking a little less bright. So probably some more LPS and only acro's that fluoresce under actinic. There's just a lot of nice stuff (especially blue) that has no actinic value.

As for the stuff I lost only certain things are getting replaced. I think I mentioned I got an orange digi but I also already got a bird of paradise frag. Also added a branching cyphastrea just because I like it.

Tanks doing well, stuff that survived, but had issues, are all mostly recovered (only some sps had issues). A few tweaks to the system and more testing. Post mortem has cause at alk swing/crash related to CaRx which has been revamped to use constant flow method and a second stage was added to it. Been slowly adding back some stuff and all is doing well. Got a few things locally, some from Unique and some from reef pets who has some really nice stuff (ebay and forum seller on the forbidden name site). I have a really special Rainbow BTA coming in next week and I'll share some pics. I did end up hanging on to 5 RBTA's (now 7). Was going to get rid of all but they have turned out to be a good source of extra discretionary funds. I'll also pump up this new nem and get it reproducing. At least for now I have them all under control and away from other corals.

I'm at least partially using the Aquaforest method on the tank now. Using NP-Pro, Pro Bio-S and Amino's. The Bio stuff replaces the carbon dosing I was using. Still using Pohl's coral vitalizer at least until used up. Have at least 1/2 a 100ml bottle left. Then the verdicts still out if I will any others. A little algae bloom when started but tanks looking pretty good now and the skimmer output is much improved and more consistent.

Interesting note... Deep Sea Aquatics is out of business. Not sure exact date but at least 5-6 months. So much for my warranty but the tank and stand are holding up very well. As anyone who read this thread knows I had no love for them after the crap they put me through getting this tank. No wonder they are belly up. I was considering resorting to using a hood on my tank so I can mount the kessils and supplement with T5's when I figured out they were gone.
