Zoa Dissolving/Shedding Skin

Hello All,

I bought a bunch of frags over the weekend. Everything has done well but I have one zoa frag that it seems like the zoas are literally dissolving.

The zoas are literally disappearing from the inside out. Again everything else looks fine, I have about 15 zoa frags total in my aquarium right now and this is the only one giving me any issues.

Tank Specs

65 Gal
LED Lighting
Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate 0
Phosphate near 0
Placement: Middle of tank low to moderate flow.

This happens to me sometimes too. I'll get 6 frags and 5 do great and 1 just never does. You can try moving it to different spots in the tank and see if it likes more/less light and/or current but other than that I'm not sure what else you can do. It's always puzzled me a bit quite frankly.

Did you dip the corals before placing them in the tank?

Hello and thank you for the replies. Yes I dipped the corals before placing them in the tank and after I saw them dissolving. I have 3/9 of the colony left, all of which open up. So far it's been 2 days since anything else dissolved so hopefully I'm fine. I was more so worried about my more expensive zoa's doing the same.

Did you light acclimate them or just propped them up on the rocks and call it a day?

Well guys, it's been more than a few days since my last dissolved zoa. Looks like I'm in the clear, thanks again!
