good question!! i've heard, anything over $1000

my crappy digital camera is 6 years old, and never can get the colors right. but i try to use my girlfriends brand new digital camera, the colors look great but i cant get anything to focus.

since your pics are really blue, i'd try to mess with your white balance settings. if you can manually set your white balance, by holding up a white peice of paper to the tank and taking a picture, that may make things better.

so its really more about the user than the camera (to an extent obviously)

HTH :)

The first two pics look like morphs of my Solars. Mine have orange mouths surrounded by blue with orange skirts. Not the best pics, but here's the one I have:

The Solars are the ones at the top. There's only one polyp decently opened.

I have a really crappy camera. What is a good camera to take pictures with?

My nikon coolpix 4600 took pretty decent photos and wasn't but $100-150, I later droped in into a bucket of water. I know have an HP E317 and it's good for normal pics but sucks at anything close up.

I'll stick to Nikon when I break this one.

I use a canon s2, it's a nice first step towards SLR, but still offers the point and shot option. I use it without the macro lense attatchment and get pretty good close ups, and nice colors. It's also pretty cheap, especially since they're coming out (or already released) the next version of it. Check it out and make sure you research anything you buy. If you want some sample photos check out my gallery.
