Zoanthid masters,
I've downsized from a 110 to a Solana, and am having problems with a newly purchased zoanthid colony. I'm well versed in SPS keeping which is the majority of the coral in the tank. However, I recently purchased a small zoanthid colony and the polyps went from open and beautiful to closed and dying within a matter of 3 days. I dipped the colony in lugol's solution (double strength for twice the time) before placing the colony in the tank, so whatever the parasite is I imagine it is impervious to the iodine solution. I could really use some help here. There appears to be small white bumps about 1/8 inch in diameter actually on the closed polyps. I took some pictures, but the "bug" is still hard to discern. I would greatly appreciate some help, as I'm afraid after another 36 hours or so the zoa's will be toast. As a side note, I have 2 paly species that appear to be unafflicted and unaffected.
