Zoa or Paly?

What do you guys think? Zoa or Paly? It was given to me by someone in my town who had no idea what it was. It and the several other things he gave me, including fish, I believe to have been (unfortunately) collected from Rocky Point/Gulf of California, as he visits there frequently, though he wouldn't admit to it when questioned. Maybe the location could help "ID" it .

Also, the "stalk" was much shorter when I got it, but elongates after being fed.

Bottom Polyp in the mold of those Green or brown ones. That one looks bleached or needs light.

Thanks! I've had it for a couple weeks and it hasn't changed color at all. Hopefully it'll get some color but I doubt it.

Most of those SIMILAR to that , many of us call Texas Trash. They are often called button palys ,, sometimes even a little more blue or grey color in them but generally they grow extremely fast and the problem is they are larger polyps and will grow OVER the bases of existing smaller more rare zoas to have new pop ups of these in the middle of the existing GOOD zoas. In the end they basically shade out the good ones killing them.

Only ONLY way to keep these types is to keep on their own rock FAR from touching any other rock that it can spread to.

By the way,, I see you are in Sierra Vista AZ I was stationed at Ft Huachuca there for 4 years back in the late 1980's lol My son was born at Sierra Vista hospital (he is now a Naval Aviator flying F-18s)
