Zoa pest id??

I have a tiny group of zoas - 4 polyps that have been doing okay. Not spreading like I'd prefer, but they were opening up just fine. I noticed recently they've been closed up and not fully open. Took a closer look and noticed something on/in between them. Managed to get a fairly decent pic of what it was and cannot figure it out. Doesn't look like the zoa eating nudi eggs... Looks kinda like a worm or something. I took my turkey baster and gave it a blast, but it did not blow off. Wife wouldn't let me commandeer her tweezers, so I need to get a pair tomorrow. In the meantime, can anyone identify what it is??

Probably hydroids, if they don't move like a worm does.
Notice that many hydroids have tiny little projections at the end of their "branches".
Hydroids irritate, stinging the polyps, and that's why they are closing.
Remove them carefully with tweezers. If they grow back keep removing them every time you have a chance.
Good luck!

Grandis.
